Iridium Push-to-Talk (PTT)

An Iridium Service that enables instant communications between Iridium devices using Talkgroup(s) anywhere in the world. Truly global communications through Iridium’s truly global network. Each Talkgroup(s) is a closed user group that is defined by a maximum geographic size and maximum usage.  These groups either Global or Middle East Region Talkgroup(s) range from Small (up to 100,000 km2), Medium (up to 300,000 km2), Large (up to 750,000 km2), Extra Large (up to 1,500,000 km2), and Super (up to 2,250,000 km2). If the Push-to-Talk (PTT) will be used wholly or partially in the Middle East Region, the Middle East Region Talkgroup(s) must be activated. Iridium monitors Talkgroup(s) usage and if the Global Talkgroup is selected and is used either wholly or partially in the Middle East Region it will be deactivated. Contact H.M.S. Telephony service is available with certain Iridium Push-to-Talk devices. All Iridium Push-to-Talk (PTT) devices can talk to each other in the Talkgroup(s) assigned to each Iridium Push-to-Talk device. Telephony Service is available for North America (Geo-Restricted), Global, Middle East Region and +1 Access. Connection with North America plan requires geo-restricted Iridium SIM cards. These SIM cards will not work outside the North America region. Devices activated on the Middle East Region plan is restricted to the Middle East Region. Use outside of the region will result in deactivation.
