Tropical Storm Zeta has formed in the Western Caribbean expected to move into the Gulf of Mexico and target the Central or Eastern Gulf Coast of the Gulf of Mexico as a Hurricane. Zeta ties a record for the most named storm at 27 as it formed and heads up towards the Gulf of Mexico. The potential landfall targets parts of Louisiana already hit by Laura and Delta as well as Alabama which was hit by Sally. Zeta will set a new record for the number of named storms to hit the United States making it eleven (11) to hit the United States so far in 2020.

The storm is currently set to move over the Yucatan peninsula dumping heavy rain across the area before heading into the Gulf of Mexico and strengthening as it takes aim at the U.S. Gulf Coast.
